The Wild Flowers - The Joy Of It All
First of all this is the debut LP from The Wild Flowers, which you may have heard before...but it's doubtful, so here goes. The band was a Post-Punk/ Indie rock band from Wolverhampton, England, the original outlet of guitarist David Newton, who left soon after to form the also excellent Mighty Lemon Drops (see last months post) however, this seems more raw and darker than most of their stuff. Worth seeking out if you like this sound. This particular record calls to mind the lush majesty of bands like The Chameleons, Icicle Works, The Lucy Show, Breathless, The Sound, and of course, Echo And The Bunnymen’s Heaven Up Here. Now surely that's enough to give it a D/load and a listen because there is next to nothing on the www to help you consider your options except that I've posted it, and therefore it must be alright.
